H.C. Andersen Festivals brings the city to life as it teams with 500 cultural and musical events for people of all ages inspired by the well-known world of H.C. Andersen.

You are guaranteed to be entertained when the festival fills the streets of Odense with festivity and colour. You can experience more than 500 cultural activities in one week, the majority of the events are free.

There are enriching experiences for everyone when the festival offers everything your cultural heart desires: theatre performances, comedy and guided tours, as well as street art, installations, concerts, international shows, art exhibitions, street performance and workshops, all celebrating the timeless world of Hans Christian Andersen, in both traditional and innovative ways. There will also be lectures and storytelling events with language in focus, creative workshops, and various cultural experiences for children.

Look forward to week 34
The festival is free to attend and takes place every year in late August. During this week, the streets of Odense are alive with light, colour and unpredictability. The festival's catchphrase is 'Anything can happen' (#altkanske), with energy, colour and spontaneity at its heart. H.C. Andersen Festivals stands together with other festivals where you can experience Odense Flower Festival, HCA Comedy Festival and Spoken Word Festival.
