Family Fun in Beautiful Paris

Spending a vacation in a holiday home in Paris gives families an opportunity to enjoy one another's company while exploring the city and the surrounding area. 

The Jardin d'Acclimatation offers attractions for family members of all ages. Children will enjoy the playground, the small zoo and the carousel. Adults can enjoy nature while they stroll through the park's gardens. 

Things for families to do in the Bois de Boulogne include picnicking on the lawn or taking a boat ride on the lake. This large park also has walking paths and a botanical garden.

There are also places in the park for horseback riding. The Jardin des Tuileries is another place in the city to enjoy nature. Visitors can walk along ponds in these gardens or stroll along paths. 

Louvre is next to the Jardin des Tuileries. Works of art from ancient Greece and Rome are displayed here. Visitors can also see paintings by Leonardo da Vinci and Rembrandt.

The Orsay Museum displays Impressionist works by Renoir and Degas. This museum offers a treasure hunt for families. Children can have their pictures taken with wax figures of fictional characters or celebrities at the Grevin Museum. 

The Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie is a science museum with interactive exhibits for children. Outer space, the brain and transportation are some of the subjects children can learn about here. 

Notre Dame Cathedral is one of the historic buildings in the Paris area. Parts of the building date back to the 12th century. There are more historic buildings in the Paris suburbs. The Chateau de Vincennes in Vincennes also dates back to the 12th century. Families can explore one of the chateau's towers and the chapel. Things to see in the palace at Versailles include the Hall of Mirrors, the apartments that were used by the French royal family and the gardens. 

Families can see Paris from the water by taking a cruise on the Seine River. There are walking paths on the banks of the river. If travelers want to explore the streets of Paris, they can rent bicycles. A trip to the top of the Eiffel Tower will give them a view of Paris from above. 

Paris visitors are likely to find anything they want to buy in the city's shops and markets. Children will have a good time in the toy department at the Galeries Lafayette department store. Adult family members will enjoy wandering through the city's designer boutiques. Antiques, books and vintage items are available in the city's open-air markets. 

A leisurely stroll through the city's gardens, a boat ride on the Seine and a trip through the Paris markets are ways for families to enjoy their time together during their Paris vacation.
