Description
Lovely house in the center of Nykøbing Mors and within walking distance of everything. The house has two floors and a charming back garden. There are three rooms on the second floor: One with a double bed, one with two single beds, and one with a three quarters sized bed (140x200 cm). There is a guest toilet downstairs and a bathroom upstairs. Moreover, the house has a well-equipped kitchen, a dining room, and a living room. In the backyard, there is a nice roofed terrace and a small grass-area.
Nykøbing is the capital of the island and is home to approximately half of the island's inhabitants. The museum of local history Dueholm Abbey is situated close to the home and here, you can find the history of the island's inhabitants as well as varying exhibitions. Nykøbing is also home to the Danish Foundry Museum, which exhibits old Morsø burners and stoves. The charming pedestrian street is connected to the harbor and marina, which is full of life during the summer. Moreover, at the marina, every night in the summer-season, locals and tourists gather to ring the evening bell at 9pm. It is also in Nykøbing you find Morsø Golf Club's beautiful 18-hole course.
The scenic area Legind Bjerge is located south of Nykøbing. Here, there are waymarked trails for both hikers and mountain bikers. This is also the area in which Jesperhus, the family-friendly holiday park, is located.
Around the world, Mors is chiefly known for its great moler formation on the northern part of the island. The most well-known formation is Hanklit (61m), which has a fantastic view overlooking both the hilly landscape and the waters of Thisted Bredning. Salgjerhøj is the highest point on the island and towers the landscape with its 89 meters. Salgjerhøs is a part of Flade Bakke - or Flade Hills - which is one of the most beautiful and impressive ranges of hills in Denmark. From the top of Salgjerhøj, there is a great panoramic view over the island and the surrounding Limfjord.
Ejerslev Harbor is a beautiful little nature harbor and lagoon, where you also can experience the great moler formations that towers the landscape. Here, you can also try your luck as a fossil-hunter.
In this area, you also find the Fossil- and Mo-Clay Museum, where 55 million years of history is exhibited through the many finds in the moler on Mors. From the museum, you can walk to the agricultural museum Skarregaard along a hiking trail that leads you through the idyllic and historic landscape. At Skarregaard, time has been paused in 1958, so you can experience the agricultural life at that time in history. Moreover, you can take a walk by the two beautiful Skarre Lakes, which is located by the museum. There is also a great playground.
The island of Mors truly has much to offer.
