The heart of the city has a 2-hour parking limit and may be entirely pedestrianized at certain times of the year (Christmas markets, high traffic.). The Neighborhood: Kaysersberg, with its numerous half-timbered houses, its beautiful historic center and its imperial castle (Kaysersberg means the Emperor's Mountain) in ruins dominating the town, has incredible charm. It is, therefore, an essential stopover in Alsace. The city is also very famous for its Christmas market. Due to its strategic position which allows control of transit between Haute Alsace and Lorraine (via the Col du Bonhomme), the Kaysersberg valley has been occupied by soldiers since the Roman era. At the beginning of the 13th century (around 1218), the fortress was built. It was the beginning of the city's prosperous era, under the control of the Hohenstaufen family. Kaysersberg became an imperial city of the Holy Roman Empire in 1293. In the 14th and 15th centuries, the city prospered thanks to the granting of numerous privileges such as the right to have a weekly market and an annual fair. The city is part of the Decapolis (mutual alliance of 10 cities in Alsace). Its wine production was very successful and was exported to the Empire. The 17th century was difficult following the Thirty Years' War which left the region ruined by the passage of different armies, but the city returned to prosperity in the second half of the century. In the 19th century, a large number of textile industries were established in the region and the 20th century saw the city partially destroyed by the Second World War. House Rule: ? This house is non-smoking. The use of cigarettes, e-cigarettes, hookahs and any other smoking device is prohibited. Smoking or using a smoking device will result in a penalty of EURO 250 in additional cleaning costs. ? Bed and bathroom linen as well as standard final cleaning at the end of your stay are included in the price. This includes changing bed linen, general cleaning of the apartment and bathrooms. ? However, it is your responsibility to clean and put away the dishes, take out the trash, empty the refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, oven, microwave as well as tidy up inside the apartment. If you do not want to take care of this, you can order a supplement called “full cleaning” of the apartment for 30 euros before your arrival. In the absence of prior reservation for this option, and in the event of non-compliance with these instructions, you will be charged a penalty of EURO 60 cleaning costs. ? Animals are strictly prohibited. ? You will be asked to sign a digital contract and your identity document via the Yaago platform after booking, as well as information for the police form, in accordance with current regulations. If the identity of the people present during the stay does not match that of the reservation, we reserve the right to refuse you access to the accommodation. ? Before, during and after your stay, our secretariat can be reached by telephone 24/7. This contact number will be communicated to you once your reservation has been validated.
