Popular destinations for trips include the Baumannshöhle, the Hermannshöhle, the ruins of castle Regenstein at Blankenburg, the Rappbode dam, the Mining Museums at Elbingerode, Wernigeröde Palace, Kyffhäuser and of course the Brocken, the highest mountain in North Germany.
