The forest lodge is idyllically situated all alone in the midst of an 8-hectare private forest area. It is accessed along a gravel road. Gas lamps illuminate the living room and kitchen. It is possible to shower under a solar-heated shower. Drinking water is provided in canisters. The interior is cosy and functional. There is no electricity. The living space measures around 36m² and the entrance area around 20m². The living room comprises a corner bench, a table, chairs and a cupboard. The kitchen is equipped with a gas stove, a gas fridge, a cupboard, crockery and everything you need. The bathroom has a toilet with a washbasin. The house has a sleeping gallery for a maximum of three people. The living room features a fireplace stove for the cold season. Plenty of firewood is available and included. The location is suitable for nature lovers and stressed city dwellers. The forest house is a good starting point for long walks, cycle tours, gathering mushrooms and other activities. The nearest locality is only 4km away and has a good range of shops (Edeka supermarket, bakery). The lodge can accommodate three people and two further people could sleep in a tent outside. Of course the atmosphere is particularly beautiful in the winter, when outdoors everything is snowy and peaceful, while it is cosily warm indoors, with a fire flickering in the stove and you are drinking hot chocolate. However, the forest trails to the lodge are not cleared in winter, so it is possible with heavy snowdrifts that you have to leave your car in the locality 4km away and walk to the lodge. If there is little snow then the owner can take you to the lodge with his 4WD. As there is usually plenty of snow in the area, guests should be prepared for these circumstances and plan accordingly. The terrace measures around 10m² with a big table for up to 10 people. Dogs are welcome, please bring a waterproof sheet.
