In winter, well-groomed cross-country ski trails, breathtaking slopes, ploughed winter hiking trails and toboggan runs at the various ski areas ensure ultimate fun in the snow. Excursion destinations in the area include: Christine slate mine, Ettelsberg cable car, Mühlenkopfschanze, Diemelsee, Bruchhauser Steine, Brilon, Winterberg and Waldeck Castle.
