Two 18th century traditional stone houses, only recently (2016) lovingly converted into modern private pool villas, in a secluded area with much privacy These two fully detached holiday villas lie on the hillside of the picturesque village of Achlades, affording magnificent views of the surrounding olive groves and vineyards. They are in a secluded area, approximately 25 km east of Rethymno town. The villas offer an ideal destination-choice for a memorable, relaxing vacation in the Cretan countryside, just 6 km and 10 km away respectively from the lovely sandy beaches of Panormo and Bali. The traditional residences of the mid 18th century have only recently been fully renovated in 2016. They are in complete harmony with the environment, thanks to the careful restoration which turned them in two luxurious, fully equipped villas, unique for long breaks on the beautiful island of Crete. The local materials that were used for the remodelling of the villas include untreated stones, tiles of the interwar era, cypress trunks and handmade bricks and an old trough, adhering to the traditional architecture and respecting the residence’s history. The traditional elements and their authentic character were preserved and highlighted throughout the villas: some exquisite pieces of furniture carefully restored, wall arches, wooden floors and ceilings, creating unique ambient spaces of high aesthetics.

Erondas Villa I lies on the hillside of the picturesque village of Achlades, offering magnificent views of the surrounding olive groves and vineyards, along with the so coveted serenity and quietness everybody needs while on holiday. Erondas is an alternative designation for the therapeutical herb, dittany, which in the Cretan dialect also means love.Fully detached and generously laid out, three-storey stone villa with a private illuminated swimming pool and a sunny terrace with a traditional stone grill and panoramic views The outdoor area offers full privacy, and you will never want to leave. Unwind by your 50 m² private pool and enjoy the hot summer sun. Respecting the environment and guests, the pool is eco-friendly, using UV lamps for cleaning. The pool has a varying depth from 90 cm to 150 cm and features a special children’s compartment (40 cm deep). The 300 m² pool terrace is paved with regional stones and equipped with sun beds and umbrellas, so you can stay there all day long. Stone built BBQ facilities and a traditional oven are at your disposal to prepare your meals and try al fresco dining under shaded pergola with outdoor dining table and sitting area. Right next to the pool, there is also another bathroom with a shower for your convenience. Additionally, there are lawn covered areas, perfect for the kids to play, and 200 m² surrounding spaces with flower beds and additional relaxing areas, equipped with patio furniture. To make things even better, the verandas of the villa occupy 100 m² and here you can enjoy your breakfast or your night’s drink and let the cool summer breeze take all your worries away. The villa boasts a living space of 220 m² spread across three levels. It can accommodate up to eight guests in its four bedrooms. Two more guests can be accommodated on folding beds, making it big enough for large families or groups of friends. The ground floor features a 45 m² studio apartment, with a wonderful loft-type bedroom with a double bed (160 x 210 cm), a lovely sitting area with stone built benches, an open fire place and a small but well equipped kitchenette, a TV, as well as an en-suite bathroom with a hydro-massage shower column. Here on the ground floor there is also a working area, with a wooden office, a laptop and printer. Climbing up the colourfully tiled paved stairs, you reach the open plan area of the first floor: A comfortable living area with an open fireplace, a 46’ smart TV and a Playstation 4 console, just what you need for a family game. Here, the fully equipped kitchen provides everything you may need for your self-catering holiday (dishwasher, Ceran cooktop, oven, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, kettle, toaster and coffee machine). In addition, there is one bedroom located on this floor, providing two single beds (100 x 210 cm each) which can also be pushed together to maka a super king size bed (200 x 2.10 cm). The family bathroom on this floor also has a hydro-massage shower column. The remaining two bedrooms can be found on the top floor, one of which features a super king size bed (170 x 220 cm) and the other one two single beds (100 x 210 each). Last but not least, there’s one more kitchenette and a shared bathroom with a hydro-massage shower column on this floor. The holiday villa is close to worth-visiting sites of historical significance, such as: Ancient Eleftherna (vast archaeological site and brand new museum), Melidoni Cave and Arkadi Monastery, among others. The first floor of the villa is suitable for people with special needs and it’s wheelchair accessible (maximum width 60 cm) as it features special ramps, offering direct access to the pool terrace. 1041K91003193801
