Description
Description
A charming historic house on two levels, a few steps from Ostuni's historic centre.
The apartment, in the unmistakable style of Ostuni houses and dating back to the 18th century, is located on the ground floor and spreads over two levels. Once known as 'sala, arcuéve e cammarìne', this unique structure has been skilfully renovated to offer modern comforts, while keeping its historical character intact. The entrance opens onto the living area, furnished with a sofa, a dining table and a romantic alcove housing a queen-size bed, separated from the rest of the room by a curtain. At the end of the room, there is access to the kitchen equipped with a refrigerator, a microwave and a kettle. In the attic, accessible via a wooden staircase, there is another room which houses two single beds. (The attic height is 1.40 m). A bathroom with shower, a bidet and a hairdryer complete the layout.
Free wifi, washing machine, ironing facilities, air conditioning in the living room and heat pump will be available in the accommodation.
We also offer to our guests truly authentic experiences to live like a local. If interested, contact us and we will be more than happy to help you out designing an unforgettable holiday to discover Italian beauties.
*Upon arrival or a few days before arrival it may be required to pay a tourist tax, which varies according to local regulations. You will find your reservation details within the Guest Area of Wonderful Italy.
Ostuni, known to the world as the White City, is the pearl of the Itria Valley. Its blindingly white, immense historic center culminates in the Cathedral (600 meters from the apartment) that soars over the plain of olive trees, the coastal dune park and a crystal-clear sea. Characteristic are its narrow streets, the Piazza della Libertà (5 minutes away) and the column of St. Oronzo that majestically protects the town.
Its countryside stretches into the heart of the Itria Valley. A few kilometers away is Ceglie Messapica, a center of tradition and enogastronomy; Cisternino, a village recognized as one of the most beautiful in Italy; and Alberobello, whose famous trulli have been a world heritage site since 1996. About 30 km to the north we find the Archaeological Park of Egnatia, Monopoli and Polignano a Mare, ancient fishing villages with a charming historic center and beautiful beaches. To the north (80 km) we find Bari, the gateway to the East, while proceeding south we first encounter the Torre Guaceto nature reserve, then Brindisi to reach Lecce, the capital of Baroque. Moving westward there is Taranto, heart of Magna Graecia, and finally to Matera, characteristic for its sassi and European Capital of Culture 2019.
The nearest airports are Brindisi and Bari, which are 35 minutes and 1 hour and 10 minutes away by car, respectively.
