Pedara Escape is a house with a garden nestled in the natural surroundings of Pedara, a town in the Catania area. Of course, it’s impossible to overlook the culinary delights of Catanese tradition, such as arancini (yes, they are called in the masculine here!), iris (fried or baked filled pastries), olivette di Sant’Agata, and brioche with granita. For lovers of grilled horse meat, a symbol of Catanese gastronomy, a must-visit is Via del Plebiscito, a street in the historic center filled with the unmistakable aroma of constantly burning grills. Another unmissable destination just outside Catania is the coast, particularly the Gulf of Acitrezza, a charming location whose sea stacks were chosen by Giovanni Verga as the setting for his most famous novel, I Malavoglia.
