C’era una volta (once upon a time)….. is a newly restored, tastefully furnished self-catering accommodation meant for couples or families who wish to enjoy a quiet and comfortable stay surrounded by nature and history while discovering South-Eastern Sicily. "C'era una volta" holiday letting is located in the suggestive and picturesque “Cava di San Bartolomeo”, facing the rupestian area of Chiafura on the way fto Modica, Noto and Siracusa and 5-10 minutes drive to the sea. It is well located to visit the Sicilian late-baroque architecture of Scicli, Modica and Ragusa Ibla, part of UNESCO world heritage, to enjoy holidays with children, to discover the interesting archaeological sites of Chiafura, Ispica or Kamarina, to visit the sets of the fiction “il Commissario Montalbano and of many other movies, to make fantastic naturalistic excursions through caves along wild paths, to enjoy the several cafes, restaurants and taste the local traditional cookery. It is a typical early twentieth century Sicilian holiday rental, restored using old squared stones for the walls, wood for part of the ceiling and other local raw materials. The charming furniture reminding the past together with the most modern comforts are thought to grant a pleasant and quiet stay to families with children and couples. “Make yourself at home” is our motto. If you look for "ceraunavoltascicli" on google, you'll find, together with this house named Via Tivoli, the second just restored house named Via Piedigrotta. It is just round the corner and can comfortably host up to 4 guests. Perfectly nested in one of the oldest parts of the town and just renovated, Via Tivoli is located in the center of Scicli a few steps away from the late-baroque Saint Bartolomeo’s Church. It faces the archaeological site of Chiafura with its interesting rocky settlement. The house built with dry-stone walls, is on two levels. It can host up to two adults. A third bed and a cot can be added. On the ground floor you’ll find the welcoming dining area with equipped kitchen corner and two stony arches leading to two alcovas in front of you. In one you’ll enjoy the living area with comfortable sofa and TV while in the other we’ve created the elegant bathroom with shower. A staircase leads to the second level with the romantique and panoramique double bedroom and direct access to the lovely terrace. Free parking a few meters from the door. We’ve restored and furnished it with the maximum care and love, trying to assure our guests and friends a comfortable and warm stay in any season. Air conditionig, heating, washing machine, TV, electric cooker, fridge are at your disposal. If you think of a holiday in Scicli and in Sicily with friends or relatives do not forget that Via Piedigrotta is just round the corner: two similar but independent holiday rentals to enjoy the real sicilian living, surrounded by pedestrian alleys in a part of Scicli where time seems to have stopped. 19088011C209732
