Description

This cosy wooden house is in the village Holum. It is right by the Mandalselva River and the owners look forward to receiving guests. It is not only the location and the beautiful view that will delight you. With a bit of luck, you can even spot deer, which have been seen several times right in front of the house. Elk live in the forest nearby. The 130m² house is set up for eight people. The first floor has a large, well-equipped kitchen (new in 2007) with a dishwasher, fridge, freezer and induction hob, as well as a bathroom with a shower cubicle, two washbasins, a toilet and a bidet. This floor also has a living room and a large bedroom with a double bed. There are three further bedrooms on the second floor, two larger and one smaller one, each with a double bed 150cm wide. It is also possible to set up additional mattresses or junior beds in three of the bedrooms. In the cellar/ground floor there is a further bathroom with a low ceiling height (ca. 1.80m). The house is heated with a heat pump and wood. As it is a wooden house, no central heating is necessary. The warmth simply spreads through the house. Firewood is available free of charge. The site has an open garden dining room with a fireplace, wood-burning oven and garden furniture, so you can sit together and relax in the evenings in front of the fire. The wood-burning oven can be used by guests, with firewood provided free of charge. Behind the house there is a great children’s playground with a slide, swings and a cool Wendy house. The barn houses a festivities venue that can be booked for special events. The site is not fenced in, but pets are allowed. Dogs can be kept on the leash and must also be sufficiently vaccinated to be allowed into Norway. Your host speaks fluent German and English and her husband speaks English. You can hire a boat from them. If interested, please reserve it with your booking. The house will be let out from 15 April 2017. More photos will be added when everything is finished. If you cross the road with little traffic you can go fishing at the river bank (with a “Fiskekort” and “Statskort”, which are available during the season at the Møll Bensinstasjon petrol station), or you can go swimming. Two kilometres from the house you can find a grocery shop and a petrol station. Everything you need for your stay is available in the town Mandal 8km away. The old harbour town Mandal offers great beaches, fish for purchase, cafes and restaurant. Cosy cobbled alleys invite you to go for a stroll. The narrow alleys with their quaint little shops are a special experience. Various boats are available for hire in Mandal. The children’s farm “Lindland Gård” is 6km away. At Kristiansand 37km away you can visit the large water park “Aquarama” and the leisure and animal park “Dyreparken”.
