Four modern guestrooms and two separate yurt tents in a newly-built (2013) guesthouse with 100% solar electricity, with a panoramic view over the mountainous landscape from the generous sun deck, with a children’s playground and a herb garden This guesthouse is a relaxing oasis in the midst of the quiet hilly landscape of Alentejano National Park, outside of the picturesque little village of Odeceixe on the sunny western Algarve coast. The use of self-produced, emission-free solar power makes it an ideal accommodation for all those seeking an environmentally friendly holiday. The living space totalling 230m² provides four modern and tastefully furnished guest rooms. The site also offers two trendy, fully-furnished yurt tents. Guests can make use of an 80m² common room with a living and dining space, as well as a fully-equipped kitchen. It has a spacious sofa and satellite TV (about 80 channels), a stereo system and a big dining table for ten people. A rustic, cast-iron fireplace stove exudes a cosy atmosphere and pleasant warmth on cooler evenings. The kitchen is equipped with a four-zone gas stove with an elegant stainless steel cooker hood, an oven, fridge with freezer compartment, kettle and coffee machine. There is a washing machine available for use in a separate room. All the residential units have direct access to the generous 100m² sun deck, inviting you to practice yoga at sunrise or simply to relax in one of the hammocks. Lounge furniture is provided for leisurely and sociable evenings under a starry sky. You can help yourselves to a herb garden right in front of the house, with cooking and medicinal herbs. Children will enjoy the playground with a slide and swing. A car is recommended during your stay and you can always find a secure parking space right in front of the house. The owner lives on site and is happy to assist with any queries. Your pet is also welcome. The guesthouse is about 3km from the centre of the little village of Odeceixe with the famous historical windmill, an outdoor pool, a variety of shops and good gastronomy. It is about 6km to the nearest sandy beach.

6.5km to Odeceixe beach but in a quiet natural area, this apartment is situated in the rolling hills between Alentejo and Algarve near the charming town of Odeceixe. The 50m² eco guestroom was built exclusively of recycled materials and has been artistically decorated and furnished with sustainable materials. The bedroom design incorporates a chestnut wooden bed mixed with 18th century carved posts from India. The bathroom has a sink made from an old wine press and the floor is made of slices of pine wood mixed with re-used wine bottle tops. The living tops it off with the sofa made from recycled jeans and in the kitchen a surfboard acts one of the kitchen shelves. There’s much more but best is to come and see it for yourself. The living area contains a comfy, bespoke sofa made of re-used jeans situated near a cosy wood-burner. A tiny oven built into the stove means that, on a cold day, you could even make a fire and cook a cake, should the mood take you. The windows to the front of the apartment grant an amazing view of the valley and access to a beautiful wooden decking area (more than 30m²), complete with outside shower and plenty of space for lounging, sitting, or doing yoga. On the other side we have a tiled outside area – for extra sun exposure in the morning and on windy days. Through this side you can also access your vehicle’s parking area, located just 30 meters away from the apartment, at the end of a wide, slate-paved path. Our guests also have access to several social areas such as the beautifully constructed yoga platform and the bio-dynamic farm. The hillside apartments are accessible via an unpaved road. The building has central heating. Electricity, water and gas are included in the price. If you are traveling with children then babies may sleep in the large bedroom of the parents whilst smaller children may sleep on an extra bed in the living room, and children over the age of six may use the mezzanine level. We can serve an Organic Healthy Breakfast on request (not included in the price) and our guests may also join our daily yoga classes (not included in the price) or rent a bicycle to ride into town. During the day and especially at night it is so quiet you can hear a pin drop, the nocturnal animals sing their songs and the stream that divides the Algarve and the Alentejo trickles endlessly over the land. Apart from our houses that are built as ecologically as possible we have a beautiful biodynamic garden that produces lovely food for you to enjoy. Great walks and strolls by the river stream can be undertaken. If you want some more movement but not too much you can take a bike, walk or drive to Odeceixe, a little sleepy town where time has stood still. Around the area traditionalism is very tangible, agriculture and fishery are one of the main activities. An area where donkeys are still ploughing the fields and the fish is served straight from the boat onto your plate. Odeceixe Beach is a 1st price winning beach in the huge Natural Park that surrounds it. The beach is great for surfing, body boarding and sunbathing. It lends itself for playing lots of games and because of its width during low tide it’s almost a round beach. The stream that runs over our land flows into the sea. At the riverside the ocean’s waves are cancelled out and harnesses great opportunity for families with smaller kids. Recently the Rota Vicentina has been installed, an unbelievable experience for trekking minded people. A trail that runs right by our land goes for hundreds of kilometres over the coastline and partly inland as well.
