Finest Retreats is delighted to present The Old Smithy, a charming cottage in the rural village of Belchford. Located opposite the village pub, it serves as an ideal base for up to four guests, with four-legged friends also welcome.

Situated in the Lincolnshire Wolds, an area of outstanding natural beauty, the property is thoughtfully designed to provide space and modern convenience for a self-catered stay, all while showcasing its unique and captivating charm. Private parking is available on the shared driveway, and upon entering through the double doors, you find an open-plan ground floor living space. A utility boot room is provided for storing raincoats and muddy boots should the weather be less favourable during your stay. The contemporary kitchen allows you to prepare meals with ease, and in the evening, you can relax in front of the woodburner in the lounge, or for summer evenings enjoy the serenity of the countryside in the private courtyard. We supply a complimentary fire starter pack for the log burner, and further wood can be purchased separately.

The property features a luxurious ground floor bathroom with a roll-top bath, separate waterfall shower, basin, and WC. Head up the spiral staircase to find the double bedroom with en suite sink and WC, and twin room. The Old Smithy is equipped with underfloor heating on the ground floor (Lounge, Kitchen, dining room, bathroom and boot room). Upstairs is heated by cast iron radiators.

Discover the charm of nearby attractions such as Hubbard's Hills, perfect for a delightful stroll and a picnic. You'll find many walks close to the doorstep, including the Viking way which crosses the bottom of the driveway. This is a wonderful area of countryside with some of the most beautiful, unspoilt scenery in the East Midlands. There are rolling hills and hidden valleys, gentle streams and some of Britain's finest countryside.

Explore the historical Bolingbroke Castle or venture to Horncastle. Just a ten-minute drive away, Cadwell Park offers excitement for motor racing enthusiasts. Immerse yourself in the Georgian town of Louth, known for the tallest spired church in the country. Wander through charming streets adorned with numerous amenities and attractions.

There are two undercover car port spaces for guests use, which have EV chargers via the Tapp electrics app. Unfortunately, this property is unsuitable for very small children, due to the spiral staircase and tiled floors. While we are pet-friendly, we would kindly ask dogs are not to be left alone at this home. Up to two dogs are welcome, unfortunately we cannot accommodate any other animal.
