The highlight is a 14-meter climbing wall with a large bouldering area nearby. End the days with warm fireplace nights where the family gathers with hot beverages to reminisce about their adventures. 

For those who want sledding, Stiga snow races has all the speed you need. Visitors use the Fjellheisen to reach the top and sled down the 1 km slope. Children under 10 years old must be with an adult. 

While Norway is known for its vast Alps and skiing, summer activities abound from June until September. The mountain cars, a three-wheeled, non-motorized machine that whizzes down the slopes, offers thrills by the minute for the entire family. You take a chairlift up to the top to get your mountain carts. 

River snorkeling in the Hemsila river allows your family to swim with the trout, getting an up-close look at Norwegian nature. A drysuit and snorkeling gear our is included for your swim from the ski resort bridge to the city center. Biking enthusiasts will love the 240 km marked biking routes in Hemsedal. There is also a bike park and mountain biking available. 

The one thing you need to be aware of when visiting Hemsedal is the weather. Winter winter hovers in the mid-twenties during the day and dips to around 13 degrees at might. Average temperatures during the summer months peak at 59 degrees in July and start dipping back into the 40s in September. Summer low temperatures are in the mid to upper 40s.
