House:
The medieval hamlet of Serignana dates back to the 13th century and is located on the edge of the National Park of the Casentinesi Forests, Mount Falterona and Campigna. Its careful restoration has created charming flats with attention to every detail that still preserve all the magic, history and culture of Tuscan tradition. From here you can set off on wonderful excursions, immersing yourself in an environment, the Tuscan Apennines, whose nature is unequalled in beauty and wild authenticity. CASA GRANDE 1 has independent access from the park: large kitchen, living room with fireplace and double sofa bed, two double bedrooms, bathroom with shower. Wooden ceilings and original terracotta floors. Outside space for private use with a table for lunch. Around the large and charming park that surrounds the entire Borgo, with swimming pool and barbecue. Free HIFI. A communal area called ‘Grottino’ is available to guests of the Borgo where everyone can stay and find books to read, magazines, tourist brochures of the area and Florence, children's games, board games. A small gym set up in the ‘Stanza dei Portali’ is also available from 15 June to 30 September. Groceries, bar and restaurant at km. 1.5; supermarkets at km. 15. For those who love a holiday in nature, it will not be difficult to spot on the property typical specimens of the Tuscan Apennine fauna such as roe deer, deer, wild boar, porcupines, hawks, hares, pheasants and with a bit of luck the wolf. Just a few hundred metres from the Borgo you can go sport fishing, trekking on foot, horseback or mountain-bike, visit the numerous waterfalls and the important peaks of the Apennines. In the Mugello area about 20-30 km away are: the archaeological site of Frascole (Dicomano), Lake Bilancino, the International Mugello Circuit, the Poggio dei Medici Golf Course. Tips from owner:
It is possible to spot many kinds of wildlife such as roe-deer, deer, fallow-deer, wild-boars, porcupine, hawks, hares, pheasants and with a bit of luck the wolf. A few hundreds metres away, various offers can be availed of fishing, foot and horse trekking or mountain bike, along approved pathways (sentieri segnati C.A.I.) and the National Park and tracks and trails of the G.E.A. In the vicinity one can visit several waterfalls such as the famous Acquacheta (described by Dante in his “canto XVI dell’Inferno”), or the ones of Calabuia, Pretella, Doccione, Pescino, also one can view the most prominent summits Mount Falterona (1654 m.) One must not forget to see Passo del Muraglione (The Muraglione Pass) (907 m.) that takes its name from the great wall that was commissioned by the Grand Duke Leopoldo II in 1836, and gateway to the land of Romagna from which one can enjoy the spectacle of Falterona’s valley. There, also visits can be organized into the Park where one can acquire first hand knowledge of its environs. In the territory of the Mugello at about 30 km. From Serignana one can find: .
