Visit Beautiful Siena

Located in the Tuscany region, Siena is a great destination when exploring Italy.

Siena is located right in the heart of Tuscany and has so much to offer when it comes to art and history.

Find out why this beautiful city is the region's most popular destination by discovering its unique beauty for yourself.

Visiting Siena's old town is an experience you won't ever forget. With historic architecture and cobblestone streets, you'll feel like you took a step back into the past.

Whether you're traveling alone or with family, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is exciting to explore. Here you'll find the Piazza del Campo, which is widely considered one of the greatest medieval squares in all of Europe. For a truly spectacular view, climb the 400 steps of the Torre del Mangia.

If you're interested in architecture Siena is a perfect destination. You simply don't want to miss the Siena cathedral, or Duomo di Siena. Take a tour and experience the majesty of the Mosaic Floor, the Piccolomini Library and even explore the crypt. You'll also find some amazing works of art in the cathedral.

Check for "Skip The Line" tour tickets to save yourself some time to engage in other activities around the city. Located a little further from the city center, Chiesa di Santa Maria is easily missed by tourists, which means it will be less crowded than many other popular landmarks.

Are you traveling with kids and looking for parks and spaces to unwind after a day of sightseeing? You'll find a variety of playgrounds scattered throughout the city, the largest being at Piazza Amendola, easily reachable considering it's just outside the city center.

A short walk from Piazza del Campo you'll find a beautiful park known as Orti Dei Tolomei. This is also close to the Botanical Garden and Natural History Museum if these are on your itinerary. Orto de Pecci is also nearby, which has ponds, animals, a café/pizzeria, as well as a medieval garden which is fun for the whole family to explore. Siena has outdoor pools which are perfect to relax with the family, located in Acquacalda.

If you're looking to get out of the sun and spend some time indoors, visit the Natural History Museum at the Accademia dei Fisiocritic. With a variety of exhibits in geology, zoology and anatomy, you'll find this is an especially great destination if you are traveling with children. Kids will especially love the array of stuffed animals, skeletons, and fossils on the first floor. Entrance is free but check the dates to make sure it is open when you're planning to visit.

The building itself is worth the trip as it is housed in a former Camaldolesi monastery from the 12th century. If you're looking for art, visit the Civic Museum in the Public Palace and take in the incredible painting and sculptures.

Renting a holiday home in Siena is the best way to experience everything this beautiful and historic city has to offer.
